The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

This book was tremendous--one of the best novels that I have ever read. Perhaps I should have been rolling my eyes at all of the coincidences that were necessary to move the plot along, but for some reason I didn't. The story hung together nicely and just seemed right. Highly recommended.

Kite Runner is a good book to compare with Atonement by Ian McEwan - similar themes but different outcomes. I liked Kite Runner a lot better.

Julie,

I can’t agree with you more. My book club read Kite Runner last year. Before we arrived to book club every single one of us loved the book - this is rare. When we left each of us were a bit less impressed by the book due to the coincidences. This is a great book, I recommend it, I just don’t recommend discussing it too much because the strings easily unravel. BTW. Great idea for a blog. I’m a new regular.
