Everybody's Son by Thrity Umrigar

I picked this up because I liked her other books so much, but this was disappointing.

Watch Me Disappear by Janelle Brown

I really enjoyed this. For once, the plot twists were decent.

Last of the Blue and Grey by Richard Serrano

Last of the Blue and Gray: Old Men, Stolen Glory, and the Mystery That Outlived the Civil War by [Serrano, Richard A.]  Very interesting, if somewhat disturbing and also strangely funny.

Who Cooked Adam Smith's Dinner? by Katrine Marcal

Who Cooked Adam Smith's Dinner?: A Story of Women and Economics by [Marcal, Katrine]

I loved this so, so, so much. A contender for the all-time favorites list.

Detroit by Charlie LeDuff

Detroit: An American Autopsy by [LeDuff, Charlie]

Fascinating, horrifying, depressing, and vulgar.

Lille de Jong by Janet Benton

So in many ways, this was excellent. But I felt that it was marred by several improbably coincidences used to move the plot along.

The Radium Girls by Kate Moore

Fascinating. A great story and interesting slice of history.

Skitter by Ezekiel Boone

I'm embarrassed by how much I liked this: not only is it a spider apocalypse, but it is also clearly a "middle in a trilogy" where the ball barely gets moved down the court. But, yet, I loved it.

Devoured by Sophie Egan

This was largely shallow and derivative, but it had a few interesting moments.

The Breaker Boys by Pat Hughes

Tru and I read this for his book group. The book isn't particularly excellent in terms of writing style, but the history is interesting and well-presented.
