The Names of the New World by Kawai Strong Washburn

So climate fiction is obviously having a moment. This contribution had some interesting elements, and kind of felt a bit like Neal Stephenson. I enjoyed this, but it didn't knock my socks off.

The Big One by Michael Osterholm

Decent

Valet by J. P. Lacrampe

This was so much fun. It was a clever exploration of a bunch of fun issues, with great characters, and a dash of madcap adventure.

The Strangers by Naomi Alderman

American Hagwon by Min Jin Lee

This seems like something I wouldn't like: long, meandering, an epic that isn't epic. But I actually loved it, maybe because of the focus on education.
