They have changed - they've gotten a lot more conservative and more pragmatic I think. I read them all in sequence while I was overseas and the evolution is pretty clear.
I believe they have changed, as well. In my impoverished college years, I shelled out the bucks for them and read/used them pretty often. Now I don't even pull them off the shelf at DB.
