Elders by Ryan McIlvain

I'm ambivalent about this one.  On the one hand, he did a decent job showing the lives of missionaries.  On the other hand, he also portrayed atypical missionaries.  On the other hand, sometimes the writing was very moving.  On the other hand, sometimes I had the sensation of reading under water.  (No, I don't know exactly what that means.  It was just a sense of . . . limited sensation, thickness, blurriness . . . )  I just don't know about this one.  (And a warning:  seriously potty-mouthed elders in this book and other inappropriate content for people concerned about that sort of thing.)

I've been wondering about this one. I downloaded it from NetGalley, but have been really hesitant about actually reading it. Still am.
